Flavio Brick was born in 1949, in Paraiba do Sul, Rio de Janeiro. At the age of 6 he moved to Três Rios, where he discovered his interest in art, precisely in colors and colored paper. In 1975 he graduated bachelor’s in communication from Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), and then moved to Rio de Janeiro where he ran a graphic arts studio until 2012. From 1989 to 1993 he sailed thru rivers all over the world, such as Tiete river in São Paulo, Navigli canals in Milan, Thames River in Greenwhich and Seine River in Paris. In the past eight years he's been working with visual arts by Maracanã River margins, as an observer of this flowing waters he has witnessed the constant destruction of the environments and ecosystems in Brazilian cities, he expresses his disgrace in his arts with a slight touch of irony.
