Suyin Srouji

Born in 1967 in Paris, Suyin Tsang Srouji has been living and working in Beirut since 2010.


She began her studies at the "Beaux-Arts in Nîmes", then graduated from the “National School of Decorative Arts”, in Paris in "Textile Design". Suyin joined different “Bureau de Style”, such as Nelly Rodi, before directing his research for the world of home decoration and textiles.


Her recent artistic work focuses on poetic narratives where she confronts fragments of natural elements with explorations in design, texture and color.
In parallel to her creations and her research in textile design, she participated as an illustrator in books intended for children: "Le Rêve de Narcisse", 2017, "Les Larmes du Prince", "Lou et Lune, enfants de la providence", 2016. She is particularly interested in collaborative projects offering new creative approaches; such as the layout of a collection of poems by children, based on the work of Mahmoud Darwish, whose sales proceeds were donated to the “Sabra” school.


More recently she intervened at the University of LAU as professor of drawing, and has run at LAU and at ALBA Fashion Design programs different textile and graphic research workshops.
