After 10 years of living overseas in London and N.Y.C., Rima Amyuni came back home and lived in the suburbs of the city in a beautiful area called “Yarzé”; a hill with villas and gardens overlooking Beirut and the Mediterranean Sea, surrounded by a pine tree forest. “Yarzé gave me, said Rima, a lot of food for thought and feelings, and gave birth to numerous paintings and drawings”. The Mediterranean light inspires her colours which are vivid, strong and often violent. Her public calls her “Fauve”.

Issa Halloum
Issa Halloum finds his inspiration in nature. He depicts richly textured landscapes with vivid colours and airy configurations. His works embrace the painting medium, emphasising the flatness of the canvas. Halloum also paints sculptures and plays with the surface and texture of the materials to render illusions of flatness. He plays with the concepts of space and depth, while utilising techniques of chromatic expressionism. He paints from direct observation, carefully studying movement and light, engaging with these elements to produce snapshots of splendid visual experiences rooted in the present moment.

The constant dialogue between abstraction and figuration is at the heart of Edgard Mazigi's art: he starts his canvases with totally abstract marks and finds his images while painting. By doing so, he hopes to add an element of spontaneity to his work, and element of unpredictability and perhaps one of mystery.
