Mwana ya Picasso Beach, (PICASSO beach child), 2021
Born and raised in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gukwikila studed at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa where he obtained a degree in Fine Art. His work is dominated by mixed media creations featuring abstract figures representative of daily life in DRC’s capital and the various socio-political and economic realities being faced in the country. He recently participated in the second edition of the Yango Biennale in Kinshasa.
