María Francisca Montes

María Francisca Montes is a Visual Artist. She has a degree in Plastic Arts from the University of Chile and a Master's in Visual Arts from the same house of studies. Her work is developed through the language of photography and video, during the last 10 years she has carried out her work around aerial vision and the flow of bodies in the city. She is currently a Candidate for a Doctor of Arts from the Catholic University. She is an academic at the University of Chile. She has participated in group and solo exhibitions, at the Kunstakademie (DE), at the Ruhr University (DE), at the Cervantes Institute (UK), at the National Museum of Fine Arts (CL), at the Museum of Contemporary Art (CL), at Galería AFA (CL), at Galería Die-Ecke (CL), at Galería Animal (CL), at the Museum of Visual Arts MAVI (CL), at La Casa de las Américas (Havana, Cuba), at Galería Ecarta (Br), among others. The FONDART Scholarship has been awarded 8 times. She was awarded the First Honorable Mention of the Transparentarte 2015 contest. She was awarded the Conicyt scholarship for national doctorate 2016.
