Born in 1992 in Cairo, Egypt, where she currently lives and works. Doaa holds a B.A in Art Education from the Faculty of Specific Education, Cairo University in 2012 and holds an Art Diploma from the Faculty of Art Education, Helwan University in 2014.
Her body of work is communicated within an ethereal and eerie context of which her signature creatures are presented. She gathers most of her inspiration from nature, whereby the figures within her paintings are directly referenced from trees, and the faces she finds and assembles within the tree trunks, adding more depth to her intricate, unworldly work.
Fakher’s work can also be identified by her distinctive choice of colors, where she adds an abrupt contrast between the foreground and background so as to highlight and present her subjects vividly. At the same time, she manages to contain an extensive amount of detail, allowing the viewer to truly savor in the rawness behind her aesthetic.
She has participated in many local group exhibitions; the Youth Salon at The Palace of Arts, Cairo Opera House in both 2016 and 2017, the 10th Luxor International Painting Symposium and Dai Arab Youth Festival 2018 at Dai Gallery as well as “Different Melodies” at Ubuntu Art Gallery in 2019. She has also held a solo exhibition at Townhouse Gallery in Cairo in 2018. Fakher has received a number of awards including the 28th Youth Salon prize in painting, the 10th International Painting Symposium participation award in 2017 and the Salah Taher Award in 2018. Her work is part of several personal collections and The Museum of Modern Art collection at Cairo Opera House. Her work was showcased at 1-54’s Marrakech 2020 edition.
